Britax Boulevard ClickTight
Calling all parents!! I am so excited to tell you about the Britax Boulevard ClickTight car seat. Spoiler alert: total game changer.
Britax Boulevard ClickTight Install
As a mom of a toddler and a baby on the way, I am always interested in the newest car seat, its safety, and the ease in which it can be installed. We already own 2 car seats and I have had my fair share of installing them, reinstalling them, and mumbling under my breath while trying to keep my toddler entertained as I struggle to get a good solid install. Seriously you guys, look no further! This car seat was a breeze to install! The car seat is attractive and is neat and tidy with the LUAS and tether stored in their own little compartments on the back. The compartments that hold the Tether and LUAS are easily accessible when needed and great for keeping everything out of the way when not in use. Many times with my other seats I could not figure out how the tether or LUAS fit in the spots they were supposed to be designated to and they ended up hanging out or messily shoved into the general area they were supposed to be stored.
The seat is well padded, it looks and feels comfortable and my two-year-old looks comfortable while sitting in it. The shoulder straps are easily adjustable as they move up and down with the headrest harness height adjuster found at the top of the seat (no rethreading). The ClickTight refers to the dial at the front of the seat which opens the base by simply pushing in on the
What The Heck Is ClickTight
The ClickTight refers to the dial at the front of the seat which opens the base by simply pushing in on the dimple and turning clockwise. The base opens up for your seatbelt or LUAS to be threaded through the designated slots as stated in the instruction manual. This is the great part, the instructions are very easy to follow and have pictures beside each step. I simply followed the 8 steps (yes only 8) for a forward facing install. I threaded the seatbelt through the designated slots, removed the seatbelt slack, shut the base and heard the click of the ClickTight dial and then literally said “Ooooh”. When you close the base the Clicktight dial returns to its original position and you can hear the click confirming that the ClickTight is secure.
Next I just had to attach the tether which has a lock that when lifted allows you to loosen the tether to reach the anchor and then( by pulling the loose end) you are able to tighten it for a secure fit.
That was it! First try and the install was fast and solid as a rock! I am so impressed.
The Britax Boulevard ClickTight car seat also has 7 recline positions and has a handy indicator on the side of the seat to let you know if the recline is correct (love this feature). There are 3 color indicators.
- When rear facing, the indicator ball should be in either the light blue or dark blue position depending on your child’s size/head control.
- Forward facing: the indicator ball should be in the Green.
Because of the 7 recline positions, I was excited to see that the Britax Boulevard ClickTight could be used rear-facing starting at just 5lbs! At first I wondered if a 5lb baby with no head/neck control could truly be put in the seat so I reclined it as far as it can go and I was truly impressed. I feel that it reclines further then our bucket seat which I always felt was too upright with our first baby. This makes me super happy as I am sure I will feel comfortable using the Britax Boulevard Clicktight seat for the new baby.
The first time I installed the seat we were going out with my parents and my husband was away at work. I was so excited with the ease in which I was able to install the car seat that as soon as my husband arrived home from work, I informed him we need to replace all of our existing car seats with Britax Boulevard ClickTight’s. I (with more excitement than I care to admit) made him watch me install it into his truck, again a solid install on the first try, and the husband was thoroughly impressed. Keep in mind that I am 37 weeks pregnant so I don’t just go around saying anything is easy these days!
