Family Travel On The Road #RestComesEasy

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Country Inns & Suites By Carlson. All opinions are 100% mine.

I don’t get to go on trips too often, so when I have a family travel trip planned that includes my toddler, I get pretty excited.

Actually, on top of the excitement, I tend to go a little overboard when it comes to planning. We have an upcoming road trip with a 15+ hour drive ahead of us and I have already started a packing list, a shopping list and a hotel list. Did I forget to mention that this family travel vacation is in August?

Like I said, I tend to go a little overboard.

We sometimes travel by vehicle, and I’m sure some of you are curious as to why we would do that with a temperamental toddler on a fun family trip?

Sometimes the journey of getting to your destination is what makes the trip.

It’s the little moments that make memories: like the time my son randomly busted out in a dance that caught both my husband and I by surprise (which ended with us erupting in laughter), or when a mama grizzly and her two cubs were suddenly foraging beside our truck.

Priceless.

After a long day of pit stops and car seat dance parties, it’s comforting to arrive somewhere to relax at night after a long day of travel (and put away our dancing shoes).undefined

  1. Is that work are in your suite? If so that’s sweet, I would love to stay in a place like that.

  2. My kids are also just as excited about the journey as they are about the destination!

  3. I love taking trips with my kids! Recently we drive 5 hours to see my sister. Singing at the top of our lungs and dance parties were definately part of the trip!

  4. Taking family trips is insanely fun, I try to make sure it isn’t too long a drive though since it can get quite tiresome on the young ones!

    • All of our bigger road trips are 14 hours, we live that far away from anything good haha. Usually it’s just a 3 hour trip to grandma’s.

  5. Now that my kids are a little older, I’m hoping to take a real vacation this year too. I agree, making the journey part of the fun and planning lots of stops for the kids to rest and recharge is super important.
