I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: technology is a beautiful thing. We embrace technology, especially when it comes to the iPad. There are apps that help my son learn in ways I could never teach, it helps me stay connected to you guys and now with an app called HomeTeam it is bridging the gap and making my long distance relationship work.

I have many long distance relationships in my life: both my family and my husband’s family live a few hours away. That means my son doesn’t get to visit with them as often as he would like, but HomeTeam has made it so that distance brings my son closer to his grandparents.

If you and your family are apart of a long distance relationship try the HomeTeam app! You can video chat, play games and read books with one another - no matter how far you are. Perfect for parents, grandparents and friends.

I’m not sure if you guys are aware, but I’m in the middle of relocating. For almost a month, my husband was in a different city working while my son and I held the fort down back in Terrace. I’m in my new city now, but HomeTeam made it easy to communicate with my husband and for him to still be a part of our bedtime rituals with our son.

  1. What an awesome app that combines facetime with playtime and storytime! A great time to extend your long distance conversation.

  2. This sounds amazing! We need to try this out with our loved ones who live in the states. I love that it gives you a way of interacting by reading and doing games. That’s so neat!

  3. I LOVE this idea!! So smart. I would download it myself but now I am wondering what ages it works best for. This was perfect for you as you were locating to a new city. I will recommend this to others with little people. Great app. and Great idea. My girls (11 and 14) face time me all the time when I am away.

  4. We have long-distance relatives too so this could be cool. We often Skype with them to keep in touch. My girls have cousins far away too and this could be a fun way for the cousins to play together. And we’ve also done the husband-work-out-of-town thing, which is tough. Glad you’re back together! We had to do it for four months and it was really hard. I don’t recommend it, but you’re right, technology does make it easier than it used to be. 🙂 Thanks for sharing!

  5. Love this idea! I know that if I was far away from my kids for an extended period of time, that I would want a way to connect with them! This is a great one! Thanks for sharing!
