Crepes

This morning I made a delicious breakfast, Crepes with strawberries and whipped cream. Best of all, it’s low calorie! Crepes are incredibly versatile. Enjoy the with fruit or nutella for something sweet, or with chicken and thai sauce for something savory.
Each crepe is 45 calories (at most, that is with milk and I had none, so I used water and it worked just as well). Strawberries were 50 calories a cup, and whipped cream was 25 calories per 5 tablespoons! (Can of redi-whip, we had some leftover from a last minute hot chocolate thing.)

Crepes

  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 cup skim milk (or water)
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup flour

Just mix it all together and on medium heat (sprayed with Pam) put about 1/10th of the batter on and spread it thin (I don’t have the fancy crepe tool, so I just used a spoon).

Heat through (1 min) and then flip and cook for 20 seconds!

That is it! So now just fill with you favorite toppings! I am in love with Crepe Works in the malls and I love their Thai Chicken Crepe…so I am hoping one day for dinner I will make that. Along with the Thai Chicken, the Teriyaki also makes for a delicious dinner.

  1. I love the crepes. My mother use to make them all the time when I was young. Quite a while ago.I make them every once in awhile.
    Have a good day.
