Glass Straws By Glass Dharma – Review

Have you ever heard of glass straws? Well before Glass Dharma, neither have I. I have to admit that when I first heard of Glass Dharma I thought the idea was a little silly. Then I began to think about it and realized how genius this eco friendly movement is.
Think about your typical day. How many times do you go to that coffee/smoothie shop and toss your container and straw right after, once a day plus for the majority of us. It’s not just outside of the home either. I use straws often (especially on a hot summer day, sipping a homemade iced coffee) they are convenient and help you from gulping down your drink. I never re use those straws, actually the thought has never crossed my mind. The amount of straws I have tossed in the garbage is so wasteful and awful for the environment.

That is why I’m thrilled about Glass Dharma. High quality glass straws that you can wash after! Think of waste you will save. I’m not a hand washing kind of a person, so I toss mine in the dishwasher and it came out fine. That is because the straws are made out of borosilicate glass. Borosilicate glass is a non-porous and hypo allergenic kind of glass that is resistant to thermal shock. Borosilicate is used in high quality glasses and baking ware (think Pyrex). What that means is not only can you place your straws in the dishwasher, but they are also microwave safe.
A concern I had about Glass Dharma’s glass straws was breakage. It’s glass so what if I drop it (I’m not known for my gracefulness). There is a lifetime guarantee! If, for any reason*, your GlassDharma Drinking Straw breaks, you may return the broken straw for repair or replacement. If we cannot restore it to its original condition, we will gladly replace it.
