Marinate Chili Wings

Add chicken wings to a large bowl and pour lime juice over the top.

Sprinkle the wings with the chili powder and salt, then toss to coat wings evenly.

Place in the fridge for 2 hours. You can marinate for as little as one hour, or up to overnight. The longer you marinate the chili chicken wings, the more flavorful they’ll be!

TBK’s Pro Tip: Want more OOMPH? Add more chili powder and let it sit even longer. I found that letting it sit for an hour with the lime juice and chili powder added a light flavor that was perfect for picky eaters.

Bake Wings

Preheat oven to 400F. The preheat and baking time is a great time to make your side(s) of choice!

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lay your chili lime chicken wings out in a single layer. Bake for 40-45 minutes, flipping halfway through. This will ensure both sides get crispy and you don’t end up with one soft and one crispy side. Enjoy warm!

Chili Chicken Wings Frequently Asked Questions

Can You Store and Reheat Chicken Wings?

Yes! The sooner you can get the chili lime wings in the fridge, the better. Store them in an airtight container for up to 4 days in the refrigerator.

To reheat these wings in the oven, bake them in a single layer at 350F for 10-15 minutes.

To keep them from drying out, you can also warm them in the microwave. Line a plate with a damp paper towel, place the wings in a single layer, and cover them with another damp paper towel. Heat for about 2 minutes, until the wings are warm.

Note: Microwaving to reheat will keep the wings from drying out, but they’ll also lose their crispy edges.

What is The Best Temperature to Bake Chicken Wings?

I recommend you bake these chili wings at 400F because it will ensure that your wings are both crispy and cooked all the way through. You can safely bake wings at 350F or even 375F, but the skin will not be as crispy. If you prefer a softer wing, baking them at a lower temperature may be for you!
