What I love about this gingerbread latte recipe (aside from it being dairy free, so my husband can enjoy a cup with me) is that it takes no time to throw it together. A few simple ingredients, a little espresso and I’m set with comfort in a mug.
The key ingredient? Quality espresso.
I wouldn’t say I’m a coffee snob, but as I’ve gotten older (and wiser…but still look much younger – ha) I’ve come to appreciate the taste that comes with the way coffee is brewed from the beans to the machine it comes from (ask all my friends, I go through machines like no one’s business).
For this dairy free gingerbread latte, I used De’Longhi’s Dedica DeLuxe espresso maker. I love how compact it is and how it takes up no room on my counter space. It’s sleek, and looks good with my decor, even the grinder looks great!
The best part? It’s simple to use, there are three easy to decipher buttons to give you the espresso, hot steam, or hot water you’re after. It only takes 40 seconds to heat up so you’ll be sipping on hot espresso or relaxing with a latte in no time.
The double drip tray as a removable option to fit most mugs. It fits mugs up to 13″ tall.

Gingerbread Latte
I made this recipe dairy free so both myself and my husband could enjoy it. To make any latte dairy free is easy, just swap cow’s milk for your choice of a dairy free alternative: almond milk, coconut milk, cashew milk, or soy milk. In this case, I used unsweetened cashew milk (it’s my favorite).
I have used frothers in the past that had a difficult time foaming up dairy free milk, but De’Longhi delivered with the milk frother on the Dedica Deluxe delivered! In a separate cup, simply pour your milk (and flavorings), tilt the frother to the cappuccino option and steam. I like to get my milk nice and hot, so I leave it there for about 40 seconds (without getting the black part wet) and then I bring the spout to the surface and tip the cup to foam the milk up at the top.
TBK’s Pro Tip: To make this gingerbread latte even better, I highly recommend grinding the coffee beans fresh. I used De’Longhi’s Dedica Grinder and ground it down to a beautiful fine powder for the perfect espresso.
While you’re finishing wrapping gifts, or sitting around the television watching your favorite Christmas movie I hope that you’ll take two minutes for yourself and brew up this dairy free gingerbread latte. Having a specialty coffee marks the holiday season with that extra bit of magic.
