Disneyland Coleslaw Recipe
I recently got back from a trip from one of my favorite places on the planet: Disneyland. While visiting this time I fell in love with this Disneyland Coleslaw Recipe and I got it just so I could share it with you. This coleslaw dressing recipe is a vinegar based dressing and using pre-bagged coleslaw mix makes this a super easy zesty coleslaw recipe that will be great as a side dish for your barbecue.
Disneyland Coleslaw Recipe
Most of the restaurants and quick service food options at Disneyland had an option for coleslaw as a side, and every time there was the opportunity to taste Disneyland’s coleslaw, I took it. It’s so good. It’s one of my favorite Disney recipes.
- It’s amazing with the pulled pork sandwich at the River Belle Terrace (we ate here twice).
- It’s delicious at Flo’s Diner (I actually ordered two and ate it as a meal instead of ordering something else with a coleslaw side).
Disneyland For The Win
My husband and I have worked very hard this year so we could take our son not just once, but twice to Disneyland. Okay, it’s not just about my son – we love it there too. We were fortunate enough to see Disneyland with both the winter decorations and it’s usual summer look.
I apologize for the conversion of photos here on TBK. I wish I could show the full quality, they’re spectacular.
We got to see The Haunted Mansion with both the original and The Nightmare Before Christmas Theme (we both preferred original), try different foods (I really missed the sticky toffee pudding from one of the carts at California Adventure this time around), and make double the memories.
Between the two visits, we got to hit up every single ride (well, except California Screamin’ our son couldn’t go on it and it wasn’t one we both wanted to do by ourselves).
I’m so thankful that we took the time out of our busy lives twice this year to spend time at Disneyland. Our trip in May will probably be our last trip for Disney for a while, and we do plan on trying out Disneyworld next. Who knows what our future will bring.
I’ve been writing about Disneyland a lot lately because it’s one of my favorite places. I plan on having a special Disneyland recipes guide soon as the good people at City Hall really helped me out there. If you’re planning a trip to Disneyland check out these blog posts:

Best Coleslaw Recipe Ever
The recipe given to me from Disneyland’s City Hall is actually titled as Taste Pilot’s Grill Marinated Slaw.
I made some small changes to Disneyland’s coleslaw recipe (aka I used a bag coleslaw mix since I like to make life on myself easier).
TBK’s Pro Tip: I’ve made this coleslaw recipe with both a creamy Italian dressing and an Italian vinaigrette, I found the vinaigrette one tasted more similar to Disneyland’s recipe.
Does it taste identical to the coleslaw I remember from River Belle Terrace? No. However, maybe it was slightly different at Taste Pilot’s (now named Smokejumpers Grill, beside Soarin’). Or it could be because I don’t know what brand of apple juice they’re using (I used Santa Cruz) or what Italian dressing they used.
Either way, it’s still delicious and a coleslaw recipe I’ll be making for years to come.
TBK’s Pro Tip: This coleslaw recipe is even better the next day. Give the salad some time to marinate.
Now I just need to learn how to make the apple pie dipped apples from Marceline’s and I’ll be set. Oh heavens, now I’m craving them.
How long can you keep coleslaw in the fridge?
If properly stored, in an airtight container, colelsaw can last 3-5 days in the fridge (but this recipe won’t last that long).
What to serve with coleslaw:
- Crockpot ribs
- Broccoli Ranch Twice Baked Potatoes
- Slow Cooker Chicken Tacos with Slaw and Spicy Mayo – I used this Disneyland colelsaw recipe as the topping and it was SO good.

I don’t think I have ever had their coleslow, but now I need to try this recipe. It sounds awesome.
Everything you touch is golden. Great recipe and beyond fantastic photos!
Thank you my friend!
Thank you so much for sharing this! I LOVE their coleslaw, but I’ve never been able to successfully copy it.
I walked to City Hall with my fingers crossed that they had the recipe available and they did! It was a happy day (lol).
That sounds like SUCH a yummy recipe! I would love to try it! We have yet yo get to Disneyland, but have wanted to for such a long time!
We went twice this year (thanks to some awesome sales) but I think we’ll be exploring other areas of our continent for the next few years. (Like Disneyworld – haha, we’re big Disney fans now.)
This looks so delicious! I love exciting recipes of old classics- makes me a big hit at summer parties. 🙂
That looks delicious! I think it would go great with some bbq we’re having this weekend. Thanks for the recipe.
The coleslaw sounds so good. I have yet to make it to Disneyland. We plan on getting there soon,
We too are Disneyland FANatics! I love your pictures and want my photographer to do a spread of our kids soon! This recipe is perfection!
Hey Laurie! Thank you so much. I’m in love with our family photos 🙂
I love to find copycat recipes. I loved the coleslaw at Disneyland. I will have to get the ingredients I need to make some this weekend. I am sure it will be a hit at our BBQ.
Let me know your thoughts!
I have never tried this coleslaw before. I have heard all about it from friends that have been to Disneyland. I am excited to try it.
I think this recipe sounds fantastic! I usually use apple cider vinegar and a little sugar with mayo for mine.
I thought it was different that there wasn’t apple cider in this recipe at first, but it worked. I’m sure you could add it in place of the rice vinegar for a little more zip!
I need to make this. Our family used to have Disneyland annual passes and the coleslaw is one of the things that my boyfriend misses the most from there.
You’ll have to let me know his thoughts!
I am a fan of coleslaw especially in the summer with BBQ. I don’t think I have had the coleslaw at Disneyland before. I will have to give yours a try.
Thanks Tara. I love summer BBQ food!
I was just at Disneyland for the Cars 3 World Premiere and we went to Flo’s Diner for lunch. I had the coleslaw and it was good. Thank you for the recipe.
I ordered two last time I went haha.
I JUST tried Disneyland’s coleslaw for the first time two weeks ago and it was SO good! What are the odds that I found this recipe as I’m craving it lol!
My family loves a great homemade coleslaw recipe! We like to put the coleslaw on top of our pulled pork sandwiches.
Yes, I love that too. So yummy!
This is awesome!! Disneyland Coleslaw is one of our favorites! I can’t wait to try this!
It’s also delicious on tacos! I figured that out on Friday haha.
I love finding new recipes for coleslaw, as coleslaw is a favorite of mine. I can’t wait to try this one. Thank you for sharing at Think Tank Thursday. Shared and pinned.
If making this the night before should I wait to add the apple on the day of? Just worried about it browning.
I had this in the fridge for leftovers for two days and the apple didn’t brown but you could totally do that!
wow, it is a healthy recipe. it is a very tasty and delicious.
hey i just wanted to know what the size of the coleslaw bag was? here in aus we dont have these premade bags.
Oh sorry about that Mary. Hmm…4-5 cups maybe?
What kind of apple did you use? Gina
Hey Gina. I used Granny Smith, as they’re my favorite.
I made this for my lady friends and it was a hit. Rather than slicing the apples I cut them in match sticks which I thought went better with the other ingredients. It was a nice change from the usual coleslaw.
I’m so happy you enjoyed it Noreen! Have a great day!
I thought this recipe was terrible. I followed the directions exactly . The dressing inedible. My guess is the problem was the Italian dressing. I used Wishbone and it overpowered all the other flavors. Can you tell us what dressing you used.
